Speakers will include NEA Vice President Lily Eskelsen, NEA Student Program Chair Tommie Leaders and other public education supporters like Linda Darling-Hammond, Matt Damon, Diane Ravitch, Jonathan Kozol, and Pedro Noguera.

Save Pell Day is an online day of action to help save the federal Pell Grant program. Nearly 1.5 million students are at risk of getting cut from the program completely and the remaining grant amounts may be reduced by 45 percent. Learn more at savepell.org.

The Los Angeles Times reports there are a growing number of youth entrepreneurship training programs. “Discovering a reason to use and polish math, reading and writing skills is part of it. Keeping at-risk students in school by engaging them in relevant, hands-on learning is also a big goal of some of these programs.”
